sketch book stuff

While my body casting is on hold, (although I have now got some more alginate but now don’t have an assistant), I’ve been drawing with paint.  I am still concerned with the idea of not so physical a form and in these brush drawings from Iife I was after some sort of ‘essence’ like quality and also the liberating freedom of spontaneity and looseness after painting using photos.  I really want to gain experience of painting from life and I’m able to do the occasional quick sketch but at the moment I’m pretty much stuck with my own face which is getting boring and seems a bit narcissistic, although a way of gaining practice

I have a ‘feel’ of what I’m after but it is just a feel and I’m striving to make sense of it and create something that resonates with it, I suppose most artists are striving for and after a way of expressing a feel of something.  Anyway, these are far from what I am after, the really stern look is quite a scary aspect of myself,… must be all that concentration.
